Turn new sign-ups into lasting supporters using quizzes

Someone just signed your petition. But what happens next? We signed up to loads of charity email lists to see what was included in the welcome journey - and so often, what came next was either nothing but donation asks, or silence.

But this is a missed opportunity. A quiz in your welcome journey can help bridge that gap, turning a one-off action into the start of a real relationship.

Strike while the iron is hot. Those first few days after someone signs up are when they're most curious about you. A quiz gives them something to do with that curiosity, something that feels worthwhile, not just another email to skim.

Help people discover your work on their own terms. A well-designed quiz lets new supporters explore what your organisation does, why it matters, and where they fit into the picture. You're not talking at them - you're inviting them to engage. That's a very different experience, and it can really stick.

Build the case for giving, naturally. By the time someone reaches their quiz results, they've spent a few minutes actively thinking about your cause. They've learned something, maybe been surprised, and they feel more connected to the issue. That's a good moment to introduce a donation ask - whether it's a redirect to a giving page or a button alongside their results. It doesn't feel like a cold ask because it isn't one. You've earned their attention.

Segment from day one. The answers people give in a welcome quiz tell you who they are and what they care about most. Use that to shape the rest of their journey: which emails they receive, which campaign actions you ask them to do, and how you frame your fundraising.

Keep it simple to set up. Drop a quiz link into your existing welcome email series. There's no need to rebuild your entire journey. Our quizzes work with any email platform and can redirect to any URL on completion, so pointing people to your donation page is as easy as pasting a link.

A welcome journey shouldn't just say hello. It should give people a reason to stay. Get in touch to talk about how quizzes could fit into yours, or sign up free and start building.
